Ambrosius Bosschaert the Elder (1573–1621) was one of the first Dutch painters to specialise in flower still lifes.

His bouquets are painted in extraordinary detail and often combine flowers that never bloomed at the same time. They celebrate the Dutch passion for rare flowers during the Golden Age.
